Bread’ead A film and performance made for “Gooseflesh 2” , Rakvere Estonia, July, 2001 A skull (from a found skeleton, amongst a collection of old bones found in a cellar) was broken to pieces mixed with grain and ground into flour at various mills. The flour was then made into bread. It was eaten by the artist (with butter and strawberry jam), and offered to the audience, at a performance which showed the documentation of the whole process as a backdrop to the ritual consumption. Many people from the audience also ate the bread. Download video |
